Plextek designs mobile communications products and cellular communications products. Mobile and Cellular Communications

Plextek has in-depth system knowledge of mobile communications used in wireless product design standards such as GSM, 3G, WiMax and LTE. Plextek has particular skills in the design and supply of radios and complete systems for cellular products including terminals, infrastructure and test equipment.

In addition we have designed of other innovative electronic products which include cellular connectivity as just one of the product’s many features. In this field, we are a Wavecom Center of Excellence and offer product designs based on Wavecom’s Wireless Microprocessor ® family of devices.

Our capability in radio communications product development enables us to support our clients during all stages of the design and market introduction of cellular products. Our detailed understanding of RF design , DSP and software coupled with our strong focus on ensuring that design for manufacture is considered from the outset has enabled us to complete a string of successful development programs.

Supporting radio system development, we have extensive software experience including Windows CE and Windows Mobile operating system.

One particular example is the design and transfer into manufacture of a multi-media cellular handset. The handset incorporates a tri-band phone, photo and video capture and transmission, gaming, web-browsing, Email, conference calling and Bluetooth connectivity. Our work with this design also encompassed the design and supply of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and supporting the introduction into volume manufacture.
