Press Release
Plextek
takes to the stage at the 1st International Conference on Photonic Access
Technologies.
Dr Steve Methley, senior project
consultant with the optoelectronics group at Plextek will present the opening
paper at the 1st International Conference on Photonic Access Technologies
on 17 December in London.
Organised by industry body the
Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) Steve will present "An introduction
to ethernet first mile access and optical ethernet".
University and industry speakers
from around the world will present the latest innovations in photonic access
technology - which many believe will be the technology of choice for future
high speed Internet access. As well as hearing about innovative new technology
solutions, presenters from the UK, USA, Greece, Holland, and Ireland will
also discuss the technical and market issues that need to be tackled by providers
and operators. This conference will address the ever-increasing demand on
access network technology for greater performance at lower cost.
Said Dr Methley: "Over several
years now Plextek has been handling many more projects for clients involving
the development of innovative optical communication technology solutions.
With the growing interest in photonic access technology for broadband, including
the expansion of Ethernet into this area, the conference is well timed to
look at both the technical and market implications."
The 1st International Conference
on Photonic Access Technologies takes place at the IETheadquarters at Savoy
Place in London on 17 and 18 December 2002.
