Optoelectronic designs on show
to industry leaders
Plextek exhibits at international
showcase event
Plextek's
Optoelectronics Group joins leading international companies at this week's
Optical Fiber Communication Conference and Exposition (OFC 2003) - the largest
and most highly regarded event for organisations in optical science and applications.
Being held in Atlanta, USA from 23-28 March, many cutting edge organisations
will share ideas and learn about the latest breakthroughs, and will look ahead
and debate the future of the optics and photonics industry.
At a show unparalleled worldwide
for its comprehensive array of fibre-related product and service providers,
Dr Steve Methley and Dr Esther Ford will show a variety of the latest Plextek
design applications to the 30,000-plus industry professionals expected by
show organisers. Visitors to Plextek's booth will see the latest optical communication
system innovations such as tunable laser controllers, 2.5 gigabit electronics
for free space optical communication, and a 40 gigabit clock oscillator. And
most recently Plextek's optoelectronics group has carried out work involving
mode-locked lasers and integration of high-speed modulator drivers.
Said Dr Steve Methley: "This
year's conference focuses on communication-related applications of optical
science. With our detailed understanding of optical communication systems,
combined with significant optoelectronic component design knowledge, it is
particularly appropriate, and important, that Plextek is able to showcase
its latest technologies in a place where all industry leaders gather."
OFC2003 is hosted by the Optical
Society of America, IEEE Communications Society and IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics
Society.
Plextek is on stand 7537 at the
Georgia World Congress Center.
