Press Release
Plextek in highlight event for
microwave profession
Microwave group off to 'Microwave
Metropolis' in USA
In
June of this year Plextek will be exhibiting at the IEEE International Microwave
Symposium (IMS) for the first time.
The Symposium will be held in Philadelphia,
USA from 8-13 June, and is a forum for the presentation of the latest research
and development and the most recent innovative product announcements. It features
a series of events that make it the year's highlight for the microwave industry
and profession. As well as workshops, tutorials, panel discussions and focused
technical sessions, the exhibition (9-12 June) will feature more than 400
companies - the largest group of microwave exhibitors at any show in the world.
Plextek's decision to exhibit at
the show is a reflection of the increasing amount of microwave and mm-wave
product development work they are being asked to perform. This has included
numerous full custom GaAs MMIC designs, LTCC component development and complete
microwave and mm-wave transceiver developments. Visitors to Plextek's booth
will see examples of these activities and will be able to discuss their own
development requirements with Plextek's experienced engineers.
Plextek has previously made presentations
in the peer-reviewed technical sessions of the IMS but has not previously
had a presence at the exhibition. The show is traditionally the favoured
venue
for microwave component manufacturers but Plextek feels that its contract
design services could be of benefit to many attendees and exhibitors alike.
Said Liam Devlin (Director of RF Integration), "The use of third party
design resource offers a route to almost instantaneous expansion of a companies'
internal design capabilities and doesn't incur the overheads of recruiting
additional full time personnel."
Plextek is on booth 2508 at the
Pennsylvania Convention Centre.
