Plextek breaking wireless frontiers in China

Plextek, the independent electronics design consultancy, will be part of a UK delegation to showcase the UK's wireless expertise and capability at a high technology fair in China. Plextek will take part in the fair in October, exhibiting on the 'UK Wireless without Frontiers' pavilion, organised by Trade Partners UK. During this fifth annual high technology event in Shenzen from 12-17 October, Plextek's technical director, Ian Murphy will present at two seminars. The first called 'Plextek in a Wireless Market', will encourage overseas investment in UK expertise by showing how the match between UK technology and China's manufacturing capability can benefit both parties. The second concentrates on the UK's leading-edge design capability in a session on UK electronics systems design called, 'The systems approach to IC development'. Plextek will also make personal visits to many Chinese information and communication technology companies nearby.

After this the Asian Pacific Electronics Business Association (APEBA) takes to the road with a mobile communications mission to Taiwan. The group will visit the main mobile operators and handset manufacturers with presentations given to an invited audience from the communications sector.

During this mission and, as only one of six people chosen to speak, Ian Murphy has been selected to present at an APEBA seminar called the 'UK's world leading wireless technology'.

The fair opens on Sunday 12 October and runs until 17 October in Shenzhen, China. The mobile communication mission to Taiwan takes place from 19-24 October.
