Ray has more than 25 years experience in RF design and technical management, covering both military and commercial wireless communication systems. Graduating in 1980, initial work included UHF and L Band power amplifier design and work on VHF/UHF ruggedised manpack radios for Plessey. From 1987 onwards, Ray moved into the cellular industry at Technophone and later GSM basestation RF design with Orbitel and Nokia.

Joining Plextek in 1995, Ray's has worked on a number of RF related projects, including 911 location, wireless local loop, tracking and medical telemetry systems and an 802.11 adaptive antenna demonstrator for OFCOM. Ray has also presented papers at the Digital Transceiver design lectures for Oxford University.
